Takeup Reel

physics question, about angular acceleration help!?
professional recordingudios often use reel-toreel tape decks. On such a tape deck, the tape is pulled past the playback at a constant linear speed of 0.381 m/s. The angular speed of the take-up reel is 7.5 rad/s. After 2.4 x 10^3 seconds, the takeup reel is almost full, and the average acceleration is .0017 rad/s^2.
Does this acceleration indicate an increasing or decreasing angular velocity? Why?
Let:
v be the constant linear speed of the tape,
w be the angular velocity of the take-up spool,
r be the radius of the tape on the take-up spool.
Then:
w = v / r.
As tape is being wound on to the take-up spool, the radius r of the tape it contains is increasing.
As v is constant, v / r is decreasing, and therefore w is decreasing.
